On 12th August 2024, Hon. Frank K. Tumwebaze, Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries, visited Chemiphar (U) Ltd, an internationally accredited analytical laboratory renowned for its expertise in food safety and quality. This visit underscores the critical importance of strengthening collaboration to elevate Uganda’s agricultural sector to global standards.
Chemiphar plays a vital role in ensuring Ugandan food products meet international safety and quality standards, which are essential for competing in global markets. The Minister’s visit highlights the significance of partnering with industry leaders like Chemiphar to build the necessary capacity across the agricultural value chain.
Minister Tumwebaze emphasized this in his social media post: “Visited Chemiphar lab this morning. It’s one of the internationally accredited labs for food safety & standards. I thank them for building this technical capacity. We are stepping up our food safety regulatory efforts thru partnerships with the private sector!” His statement reflects the urgency and importance of collaborative efforts in enhancing Uganda’s agricultural practices.
